[sold] The beadwork on both these pieces is fantastic, but the carving underneath is uncommonly fine. The turtle shell lifts up on a carved wooden hinge to reveal a shallow hollow space for valuables. Tortuga is signed by the artisan on the underside. Both creatures feature sun motifs in the bead decoration. Beads on beeswax over hardwood. Jaguar is 7.5"h x 3.5"h x 1.5"w. Turtle 6"L x 3.5"w x 2"h, with a 2"d hollow in the shell.
